Dancing in the Mexican Sun

Responding to specific sites inhabited while in Mexico, this video work developed from a series of performances that placed the body in conversation with extreme environmental conditions. The work uses these conditions to convey the process of integrating with the site, though the subject never actually achieves it; the actions do not make a lasting impact on the site. Instead, artwork emphasises learning through inhabitation, occurring kinaesthetically as the artist moves through the site and image frame.

Dancing in the Mexican Sun also references the plethora of mural art that is ubiquitous in Mexico.
